Kaz

I am second-generation Aotearoa-born Chinese with ancestry from Southern China. Te Whanganui-a-Tara/Wellington is currently home for me.

I identify as a Chinese New Zealander, and genderqueer.

Working in health care and providing talk therapy/coaching is what I love to do. Outside of this I enjoy music, working out, walking the dog, local beaches, playing badminton, sharing humour and good kai with whānau/friends.

My approach

Providing a welcoming, non-judgemental, and safe environment is important to me. You might be feeling stuck and stagnant in life or struggling with your physical and mental well-being. This might be preventing you from living the life you really want or being the best version of you. Together we will figure out what you want to focus on and what is important to you.

Professional background 00

I have experience working with a range of mental and physical health concerns and currently work for a Primary Healthcare provider in GP practice.  I have a background working in Mental Health and Addiction Services (Community based, and acute mental health inpatient services). My lived experience of having effectively managed both persistent pain and chronic fatigue adds to the level of understanding I can provide for you.

I have a Postgraduate qualification in Health Sciences, endorsed with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Prior to this I completed a Masters of Applied Social Work. I am registered with the SWRB NZ and ANZASW. Also endorsed as a Health Improvement Practitioner. My practice draws on CBT, FACT, ACT, and DBT skills. See the resources page to learn more about these different types of therapy.
