Rachel Navanua

I was born in Narrm/Melbourne which is Wurundjeri country. My ancestors are from Ireland, Scotland, England and Spain. I moved to Te Whanganui-a-Tara/Wellington in 2016 with my family and have been here since! I identify as queer and I’m comfortable with any and all pronouns. I love the outdoors and regularly go hiking, camping and play football. On many evenings I can be found enjoying a comedy, drag, or music gig in Wellington.

My approach

My therapeutic approach is eclectic and based on your specific needs and goals. I work transdiagnostically, which means that the focus is less on diagnostic labels and more about identifying and transforming the processes and factors that are keeping you stuck, so that you can thrive. I work with people for the length of time that is most helpful for them, whether that be a single session or up to 12 or more sessions. I usually work with people aged 18+ and appointments are generally available on a fortnightly basis.
